My Story
Let me guess—you’re stuck. You’re ambitious, talented, and hard-working, but the career you’re in? It’s just not giving what it needs to give. Been there.
Once upon a time, I was in shoes quite similar to yours — working a stable but uninspiring job while daydreaming of something more, having maxed out my earning potential at $48K a year. Yuck.
I knew I was meant for more, and I wanted to work in tech but the path forward wasn’t clear. I was scrambling. Trying to convince myself that I wanted to be a developer (not me at all), and looking at masters degrees to try to become the person I thought I needed to be.
Thankfully, all of that nonsense came to a screeching halt when a chance connection opened my eyes to the real opportunities in the tech world. Ones were being an engineer were just a part of a much big picture.Â
Fast forward to today: I’ve tripled my salary, found joy in my work, and built a life I’m proud of—all without learning to code. Now, I’m on a mission to help you do the same.
Why I Created This
I created Skilled Ambition for the ambitious but stuck woman. The one who’s ready to ditch the under-valued grind, pivot into a career she loves, and finally earn what she’s worth.
Unlike other career platforms, Skilled Ambition is unapologetically focused on underrepresented, non-technical women in tech.
I was called to create the resource I wish I had when making my own transition and even as I continued to grow my career in tech as woman of color.Â
There are no coding bootcamps here, no overwhelming tech jargon—just practical, step-by-step strategies that help you lean into who you are and what you bring to the table so you can step into roles that pay and excite you.

As a Learning & Development leader in tech, I’ve spent over a decade helping people and organizations identify skill gaps. Through my work and passion to help others be great, I've created opportunities for countless ambitious working adults to grow their careers, and thrive at work.
I am serving in the tech industry right now, which means I have my finger on the pulse of hiring trends, skill gaps, and career outlook for the professional women I support.Â
